Christmas at Boone Hall Plantation
NOW Through January 1, 2018
The sun glistens through Spanish Moss which drapes a ¾ mile corridor of 270 year old giant oak trees…and as holiday time rolls through, Boone Hall comes alive with festivities, decorations, and good ole southern holiday hospitality, that is only befitting America’s Most Photographed plantation. The plantation mansion and grounds are decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations of every kind including a variety of very creative ornaments on one tree that are made with local sweetgrass. There’s decorations made with cotton and berries grown right on the plantation, wreaths made from magnolia tree leaves also grown on these historical grounds, and the front entrance is decorated with arrangements that are filled with live fruit. There are not any plastic decorations on this plantation, and of course, all the trees are live, and the fresh smells generated by them, fill the entire house. It’s holiday decorating at its finest…an annual affair at Boone Hall Plantation. Click here for additional information.

In This Moment at North Charleston Performing Arts Center
January 16, 2018
In This Moment presents The Witching Hour Tour. Throughout history, art rejoices and revels in the wisdom of women. Within a deck of tarot cards, the High Priestess serves as the guardian of the unconscious. In Greek mythology, the old oracles celebrate the Mother Goddess. William Shakespeare posited portentous prescience in the form of MacBeth’s “Three Witches.” On their sixth full-length album Ritual, In This Moment—Maria Brink [vocals, piano], Chris Howorth [lead guitar], Travis Johnson [bass], Randy Weitzel [rhythm guitar], and Kent Diimel [drums]—unearth a furious and focused feminine fire from a cauldron of jagged heavy metal, hypnotic alternative, and smoky voodoo blues. It’s an evolution. It’s a statement. Click here for additional details and ticket information.

They lived in harmony with the universe and saw a connection among all things. Traditional Chinese culture carried these principles for thousands of years—until this world was lost. We now invite you to visit this lost civilization. To make this journey possible, we have pushed the boundaries of performing arts. We combine ancient legends with technological innovations, and historically authentic costumes with breathtaking animated backdrops. We let classical Chinese dance do the storytelling, and share with you beautifully diverse ethnic and folk traditions. Filled with an enchanting orchestral sound, this is a mesmerizing experience you won’t find anywhere else. Click here for additional information.
