Recently inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Alan Jackson’s membership among country music’s all-time greats is the latest in a long line of career-defining accolades that include three CMA Entertainer of the Year honors, more than 25 years of membership in the Grand Ole Opry, a 2016 Billboard ranking as one of the Top 10 Country Artists of All-Time, induction to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Heritage Award as the most-performed country songwriter-artist of ASCAP’s first 100 years. Fall House and Garden Tours
October 4-28, 2018
On various days in October, from 2 pm- 5 pm, PSC will offer traditional self-guided tours of the interiors of 6-7 private houses and gardens. These are REAL houses and not museum or staged buildings. They have had modifications and updating but they are privately owned and only open once or twice a year. In some instances, only the garden is open. Tickets are $50 per person and limited. The City of North Charleston's Harvest Festival and Block Party features live musical performances, an artist market, costume contests, trick-or-treat on the street, a pop-up pumpkin patch, children’s activities, and more. The fall festivities take place in the Olde Village of North Charleston, located on East Montague Avenue near Park Circle. Admission and parking are free. East Montague Avenue will close to vehicular traffic from Jenkins Avenue to Virginia Avenue at 2PM and remain closed for the duration of the event. Click here for additional information.

Annual James Island Connector Run

The James Island Connector Run is more than just a race, it’s a movement. Our race supports giving scholarships to local Charleston students with physical disabilities. By awarding scholarship assistance to students each year, the James Island Connector Run and Gavalas Kolanko Foundation help make “Education Within Reach” for South Carolina undergraduates pursuing a college education despite physical limitations. Shag the night away under the stars at the Folly Beach Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier, where DJ Jim Bowers will be spinning the hottest oldies and beach music for you all night long. Event hours are from 7 - 11PM. Beverages will be available for purchase on site.
