Rockin' the River Concert Series
September 3, 2015 - Plane Jane
Rockin' on the River free summer concert series is off to a great start and we invite you to join us at Riverfront Park in North Charleston for great music, food and drinks. Food trucks will be on site and ICEBOX is proud to serve you at the beer and wine garden. Admission and parking are FREE. Gates open at 5:30PM, with music from 6:30 - 9:30PM. 

Greater Charleston Lowcountry Jazz Festival
September 3 - 6, 2015
The Greater Charleston Lowcountry Jazz Festival, now in its seventh year, has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society and draws thousands of jazz fans to the Lowcountry each year. The 2015 event features Marcus Miller with Special Guests Charlton Singleton and the Smooth Jazz Orchestra. The festival benefits the Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc. an organization whose mission is to decrease health disparities among the underserved.

Labor Day Weekend Fireworks Show

While inclement weather forced the cancellation of Folly Beach’s Fourth of July fireworks show, Folly Association of Business has set a make-up fireworks display for Labor Day weekend. Labor Day Weekend Fireworks Show will take place at 2nd Street East on Saturday, September 5!

Part of the Memorial Waterfront Park complex, the 1250-foot long Mount Pleasant Pier stretches out into Charleston Harbor under the foot of the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge. Along with beautiful views, the pier offers great fishing! The Folly Beach Pier is one of the best destinations in the Lowcountry for pier fishing. This breathtaking landmark stretches out 1045’ into the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and offers spectacular views, fishing, dining, tournaments, special events, and more throughout the year! John Williams Extravaganza
September 12, 2015 
John Williams Extravaganza will salute some of the greatest movie music ever written by legendary composer John Williams. Featured movies include Star Wars, Harry Potter, E.T. Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lincoln and many more. Members from the Carolina Garrison of the 501st Legion will join the POPS to celebrate the music of John Williams! Charleston Shrimp & Grits Festival 2015
September 19, 2015 from 6 - 9PM
This year's Shrimp & Grits Chefs' Competition will feature 20 top Chefs from Downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant. Not only will you help these great Restaurants and Chefs raise money for the Charleston Animal Society you will get to savor 20 different, delicious versions of Shrimp & Grits. You decide the winner, while you enjoy live music, drinks and interesting vendors. 

Charleston Italian Festival

The Charleston Italian Festival is a celebration of Italian Culture. The food, wine, art, entertainment and cars, really nice cars of Italy will be represented. There's so much to celebrate, we're closing the street to do it! At the Charleston Italian Festival you'll taste cuisine from some of the area's best Italian restaurants. You'll sample wines from the Italian countryside and Italian beers you've been dying to try. In the Artisan Tent, some lovely handmade items, handbags, Italian food products, oils, vinegars, photography, ceramics and linens. Kiawah Island Triathlon
September 20, 2015
Tri-Kiawah is a USAT sanctioned (#213334) intermediate distance competition featuring a .7-mile swim, 25.1-mile bike and 6.1-mile run. This race is currently the only intermediate distance triathlon in the Charleston area to feature an ocean swim. The competition kicks off with the .7-mile point-to-point swim in the vast, beautiful and calm Atlantic waters off Kiawah’s stunning coastline. The bike and run portions of the race take athletes along the scenic marshland, maritime forest and beachfront, allowing participants to capture the unique essence of Kiawah Island. Transition area will take place in Night Heron Park, a 21-acre spectator and family friendly park at the heart of Kiawah Island. Click here to register.

Charleston Symphony Orchestra With The Steep Canyon Rangers
September 26, 2015 
The Steep Canyon Rangers are an American bluegrass band from Brevard, North Carolina.
In 2008, the band received a nomination from International Bluegrass Music Association for “Album and Gospel Performance of the Year.” The band were featured performers on the June 27, 2009 broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion, with the addition of Steve Martin on the banjo. It was announced on June 13, 2011, that the Steep Canyon Rangers signed with Rounder Records, with SCR’s lead singer Woody Platt saying the Rangers are honored to join Rounder Records and be a part of such a rich musical history." 35th Annual Taste of Charleston

This year will mark the 35th anniversary of the Lowcountry’s culinary event of the year, The Southern Living Taste of Charleston, hosted by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, Inc (GCRA). A 3-day event showcasing taste-tempting delights served by Charleston restaurants. For the main event, historic Boone Hall Plantation is transformed into a sea of culinary enchantment! 50 of the Lowcountry’s favorite casual and fine dining restaurants serving sample size portions + beer and wine. Highlights of the Main Event include: specialty and imported beer tasting tent, live music, the legendary “Waiters’ Race” and the “Kid’s Kitchen Sideshow.” Food and drink tickets are sold separately.
